On this half day tour we visit two of the most important spiritual places in Wales - Llandaff Cathedral and Llantwit Major.
In the 6th century, St Illtud founded a monastic school in the place which now bears his name. The current church dates from the 13th century. In the Galilee Chapel are one of the most important collections of Celtic Christian stones in the UK.
In the same century, bishops Dyfrig and Teilo set up a church in Llandaff. The current church dates from the Norman period and has had significant artistic additions right up until the 20th century.
Between the two of them you will hear the story of religion in Wales and get to see some of the most important artworks in Welsh churches.
This is a half day coach / minibus tour. If you have your own vehicle the cost is £360 for the day. If you would like me to source a vehicle for you, please get in touch. Donations to the churches are included but any refreshments are at your own cost.
