Meet your Guide

Hi, I’m Jill and I’m a Blue Badge Tourist Guide for Cumbria and Wales. I lived on the edge of the English Lake District for 20 years and now live in Wales.

Blue Badge Guides are highly trained and rigorously examined.  The Blue Badge is the highest professional tourist guiding qualification you can achieve in the UK, recognised (and highly regarded) throughout the world. We are the only guides recognised by Welsh Government to guide in this country.

If you are interested in a bespoke, private guided tour please get in touch. I can guide you on foot, in a coach, minibus or chauffeur-driven car. I have limited availability left for 2025 but if you are planning your dream holiday for 2026 then I’d love to help.

My favourite places to visit are gardens, churches and ancient sites and that’s my ‘day off’ choice of thing to do! If you add in a lovely countryside walk as well then all the better.

You’ll get a better ‘feel’ for me and my interests if you have a browse through my blog. I don’t offer ‘off the shelf’ tours - each one is individually designed for you. You tell me what you are interested in and I plan the itinerary based on that. My blog may give you some ideas though….

Welsh Government runs an Ambassador Scheme which is a series of online courses in tourism in various parts of Wales. I have achieved the highest level in each course currently available.
